So far today I got nothin to talk about, I am sitting here with wet hair that needs to be dryed, some towels that need to be folded and so much on my mind that I don't even want to deal with, you know just life. It's raining so I don't want to get out and about, these jammie pants are way too comfy, the dog is on someone's bed and hasn't even come in to say hi in a few hours, lazy hound! I am hoping Cameron does well on his spelling test today, what a struggle he/we have with that, I hope Jim has a better day at work, and we are making plans for my dad's heart surgery next week, so the stress will start again, but that's okay, we have been gearing up for it if you will... maybe I am feeling kinda numb about things and I just don't realize it, I know dad is has had some animosities here lately, who could blame him. His surgery will be in Little Rock and we'll be traveling back and forth every few days, so life will get a little crazy around here but we can deal with it, we just want to get dad better, and up and running again. Well, for nothing, I sure had something and I am done now though, I really got nothing more to say...

{Happy Finds}

Took another trip to Goodwill yesterday, even though some of the stuff I got last trip still hasn't been "repurposed" due to weather that will not allow me to spraypaint!!! anywho, I had the itch to go and see what was there, it's a very small Goodwill, unlike the ones back in Dallas, but I got a few things and I am pretty excited about them...
A few baskets, the lovely blue one is going to make Hannah a very nice Easter basket, I plan to paint it and embellish it with some "pretties" it's long, so should be plenty of room for lots of Easter eggs, and the smaller one is Cameron's, he has said he won't be hunting eggs this year and I knew this day would come, after all what 12 year old boy hunts eggs???? well, I bet he'll cave and sneak a few! haha! and the large one will hold an arrangement, so the good thing is I have plans for each one and they will not just lay around.

Now, for the really, really good stuff!!!!!! I am so lovin my dessert glasses, I was so in love when I saw them on the shelf at .50 a piece, be still my heart! so I got 4 and served my family up some gorgeous ice cream sundaes last night for a snack and they were perty pleased. Also, I got this tart dish, I have never had one and always wanted one but never really set out to get one, but when it's "Oneida" brand and is 1.50, that's a different story, I had to have it, so needless to say I was scouring my cookbooks last night for some tart recipes {squeal with delight}

Most of us are in the winter season and very content with it, some are tired of it if you have had a rough winter with too much snow, here in East Texas winter isn's too rough and we definently do not get too much snow, we did however have a snow day a week and it was so beautiful. It's nothing for us to be 70 one day and 30 the next, and that my friends makes for some really great sinus/allergy issues!! ha! but that's the way it is. When I am sweating in the summer and hating the triple digits I often long for cooler days, I really enjoy cooler weather, but then after I have had too much cold I start dreaming of spring on occasion. I am real big on trying to enjoy every season, being in the moment and not wishing one away to make room for another, just like holidays, I don't like walking in a craft store in July with shorts and sweat rolling down my face and a jack-o-lantern smiling at me, one occasion at a time please! same as the weather. We are under a winter weather advisory today and just might see some white stuff falling from the sky later on and I will welcome it with some hot choc. and cozy clothes, and happy kids!

But, there is a part of me who is thinking in the spring frame of mind, just a little, not too much, but a little, aren't these pictures darling? and I may just have to copy this basket with the cute little chicks, it's such a happy basket!

{Sweet Molly-Kate}

If anyone ever wanted to say my life was boring I could sure call their bluff! yesterday my 5 yr. old niece had to be taken by ambulance to Childrens Hospital in Little Rock, she had complained of her heart beating fast, that led to doctorr and then the ER, they ran some test, she was hooked up to IV with meds to slow heart rate down, the EKG came back looking as if there was a problem, they then sent those test to LR for an opinion and sure enough they said they needed to see her there, so they load the little precious thing up and take her to LR, I took Mad. and John and everyone else followed to LR, long story short she has WPW, you can look it up if curious, she will take meds. for it and when she turns 6 she can have a procedure to fix it. They released her last night and they stayed in a hotel for the night, we are soooo thankful that this did not turn out to be anything more serious, God surely watches over us doesn't he.

{Keepin it real}

Edit- Just wanted you guys to know that I got my butt in gear this morning and Jim and I enjoyed a fun day together, we went to Applebees for lunch and to Kohl's and we each got a new pair of shoes!!! So fun!

I have so much to do today and I don't have the mojo to do them, but it's driving me crazy thinking of the things that I need to do, ever feel that way? I am sitting here on the couch in need of a coffee refill, where's the maid when you need her? I need to shower and wash my hair, and probably shave my legs, gosh I hate that chore, how lazy is that? My husband is off today, well, sorta, he went in to do some paperwork and will be back home shortly, he asks if I want to do anything today, with absolutely no enthusiam I tell him I had planned to clean house all day, what a fun gal I am, husband is never ever off during the week and I choose to clean house, we'll see, I am known to change my mind from time to time! My kids rooms are atrocious? Cameron started cleaning his last night, it's that bad that he does it in shifts, but as he layed in bed last night he was shooting his air soft gun and these little red bullets shoot fly around the room (no damage) and his floor is coated with them, these little critters can be found everywhere in my house, and Hannah is just as sloppy, I told her last night that I was disappointed that she was also a slob like her brother, I had hopes that one of my kids would be neat with their rooms, she's my girl what's her problem????? I am so let down on that issue. And their bathroom, oh don't get me started, I am stressed just thinking about that place! Ok, what other dirty laundry can I share with you guys, it seems this has turned into a keepin it real kinda post, feels good though, so shall I continue??? don't mind if I do... let's see, I have really dry hands and they crack and hurt like heck and the cold weather does not help, I look like I dig ditches all day, my hands are not commercial worthy, maybe for a "before shot" people would go oh my poor girl, she needs do treat them, if you have any great suggestions, please share, they really hurt. Well, while this has been rejuvenating I find it in my best interest to get up and do something about all this!!!

I am so tired this morning, I could lay on this very couch and go back to sleep. Why is Stacy so tired you may ask???? well, I went to bed at 10:45, not a big deal, back up an hour later due to husband snoring, crawled in bed with Hannah, and she coughs all night long, both kids were on breathing treatments yesterday and she was still struggling, so I listened to that all night, finally gave her some more cough syrup and offered her a breathing treatment to which she declined at around 4 am, but the coughing wasn't just bugging me I was worried about her, okay so the coughing stopped and I drift off, not into a slumber, but bad dreams that included me waking up realizing I had slept through my hair appt. at noon today which involves a much needed color and cut and sleeping through my kids school V. day parties, I was horrified, I had gone to bed thinking about what all the next day involved for me and obviously dreamed about it. Rough night!! sheesh, so, I need to get in the tub, it's a shaving day, and woohoo I don't have to wash my hair, that will be done for me this afternoon at the salon that I will definently not sleep through, my roots are begging for some attention!!!

{Just ramblin}

We're having a snow day, woo hoo!! it's been along time comin, we have watched the folks in Ark. just down the road have enough snow for an entire winter and we were jealous, but now we have it and how fun it is!! I'll post some pics. later. So, today if the streets aren't too bad to drive on I have to go grocery shopping, BIG TIME, this trip doesn't even get a list, it's just pull stuff off the shelves type trip, we need it all! ha! Dad continues to do good, thank the Lord! we go to the doc next Thurs. to discuss the surgery which will probably happen the week after, so prayers for that. My Mamaw came home yesterday from the hospital and is also healing very well, and can't forget my dad's dog KC, she is home and healing also, whew, thank goodness for the healing stories huh, that's the goal after all! I am looking out at the kids playing and the sun is shining, not a good sign just yet, please don't our snow just yet, pretty please!

{Too much}

I got my dad moved back in his place yesterday, he was ready to go back home, he is doing good and getting strong for his open heart surgery, it will be tough all over again, but it's what is best and that's what we want. Let me tell you what all has gone on in the last 2 weeks: dad had his heart attack, mamaw went back in hospital and was quaintinted for a highly contagious intestinal problem, but is getting better and will be home in a few days, on Sat. took dad to clinic because of an ear infection, woke up Mon. morning to a house that looked like a war zone, my dog and dad's dog got in the trash and helped themselves to the chicken bones from our KFC lunch, dogs+chicken bones=vomit & diareah w/blood, this is not for the faint of heart, just keepin it real! there were probably 15 spots through the house, it was HORRIBLE, those poor stupid dogs, Kirby had done the vomiting because he was still gagging when we found him and KC had the other lovely problem and it was bad, dad scoops KC up in a towel and is checking her out, Kirby is moping around all pitiful looking, Jim gets the steam cleaner out, keep in mind it's 7:00 in the morning, the kids are freaking out, we're scared for the dogs, Jim was getting the mess cleaned up, I call my sis to get over here after she took her kids to school so that we could take dogs to vet, so I get my kids to school, Terri gets here, we ended up just taking KC because she was by far the sickest, Kirb was functioning okay just felt bad. We pile in Terri's van, I have KC wrapped in a towel, she is whining trying to get in T lap, and we get to vet, get her in and they immediately take her back and let us know they will run test and call us with the results. Whew, I am feeling out of breath just typing this story, anywho, I get back home and give Kirb some white rice mixed with his food, this is to fill his stomach so that it could cushion his insides in case they are injured from the chicken bones, he ate it and slept most of the day like a big ol' fat hungover dog, we kidded that the dogs had their own Super Bowl party when we went to bed! ha! KC had indeed scratched her intestines up and was still bleeding, poor little thing, she is a mini dachsund, but she did not need surgery just some meds. she stayed 2 night for observation and was picked up today and is back at home with dad and of course on several meds. What a story huh? can any of you top my story? let me know!!!

{Hello Valentines}

I normally don't "decorate" for Valentine's Day, but after seeing so many cute banners for different occasions on bloggy land I had decided to try and create one of my own without spending any money or very little at that. The banner is simply made out of doiles from the Target $ spot and I used some white craft string and just strung them on and there ya have it! The frame was a Goodwill find and I put some V day scrapbook paper in it, and the word "Love" was from Michaels for .25, put some more paper around a candle jar, a candy dish and a candle with some fun ribbon, very easy!

{Hannah's Party}

I am finally getting to post Hannah's 8th birthday pictures, she had her party at a nail salon and the girls were treated to mani/pedis, that is right up their alley, she had a great party in lieu of everything that had been going on with dad, we were so thankful that he was going to be okay, it made enjoying her party even better!

The birthday girl at 8 years old
Her 7th birthday

And her 6th, I thought it would be fun to see how she's grown, she is my angel girl and needs to slow down in the growing department, this mama can't take it! ha!

Obviously, very excited about her new Webkinz fish from her cousins

The girls being pampered

Cousin Molly-Kate, looking all glam!

And her cake, I love how this cake turned out, I took a napkin to the bakery and they copied it just perfect, she was so excited!!!!

Friday, February 5, 2010

I brought my dad home from the hospital last night, I felt like I was bringing home a new born baby, I was excited, I was nervous, I was thankful to be bringing him home, we are very lucky to have him with us, he is tired, weak, nervous, cautious and it's a sad thing to watch, he is home for the next 2 weeks to rest and get strong and then he goes back in for another bypass surgery. I started this post on Friday but never finished it, too busy around here, but I am glad to say my dad is getting stronger and is doing really well, we are taking such good care of him, I wouldn't have it any other way.

{Miracles}

What a week this has been... a week ago today is when my dad had his heart attack and we were told he would probably not make it, this is his 3rd heart attack btw, well after 7 days in ICU he went to a room yesterday afternoon and is doing really well, they call him a miracle, it's all God. If he walks well enough today he can come home tomorrow and rest for 2 weeks and then he is having a open heart surgery, so needless to say, it's not over yet, one miracle at a time. He is coming to our house to recooperate, he lives alone and needs to have care, so that's where we come in and I can't wait to take care of him, it's like a 2nd chance in a way, we were prepared to lose him last week, there was not alot of hope, his heart is sick, that's all there is to it. But here we are and I could just shout to the Lord with thankfulness and believe me I have!!!!! I have alot to do to get ready for him to come home, please continue to pray for our family.
